Description
Organisation Intersex International (OII) has used Jones et al.'s data from the "Intersex: Stories and Statistics" study in their advocacy against forced "corrective (normalising surgical/ hormonal) interventions" for intersex youth. This policy advocacy has occurred in a continuing manner in a variety of spheres (rights of child, right to protection from torture, anti-discrimination measures, health advocacy) including in engagements with state governments (e.g. OII, 2015) and international human rights bodies (OII, 2016).OII (2015).
