Becoming a critical scholar

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

this chapter builds in the previous chapter by getting scholars to understand how their beliefs, education, environment and experiences shape them as academics and researchers. It dispels the myth that research in the social sciences can be unbiased and that we all bring our biases to research. It then outlines how we can leverage these biases to develop research that has an impact on academia, practice, policy and society. It also explores the different problems we face in research and distinguishes between solving tame or wicked problems.
