Dr Susan Caldis is a Lecturer in the Macquarie University School of Education. Her research and teaching expertise is in geography education and the transition of pre- service teachers into the teaching profession. Her current research for the Early- Career Enabling Scheme progresses a research trajectory from her doctoral thesis around the nature and implications of teacher responses to out-of-field teaching in geography. During her doctoral candidature, Dr Caldis was awarded Excellence in Higher Degree Research by the Faculty and she was commissioned by the Academy of Singapore Teachers to Singapore as the Outstanding Educator In Residence for geographical education.
