Invited to participate in the inaugural meeting to create the Embassy of the Moon by the Teylers Museum (Haarlem, the Netherlands). This was an interdisciplinary expert meeting dedicated to developing an international blueprint for an operational Embassy of the Moon. This gathering was driven by a shared concern for the future of Earth's celestial companion. Experts were selected from the fields of science, art, law, ethics and industry. I was unable to attend in person, but the Archival Futures Collective's film MOONRISE was screened at the gathering to spark discussion.
The Embassy of the Moon is an initiative by writer/journalist Marjolijn van Heemstra, and astronomer Marc Klein Wolt, in collaboration with Radboud University (Nijmegen, NL) and Teylers Museum (Haarlem, NL), with support from NL Space Campus (Noordwijk) and the Netherlands Space Office.
