Description
• Researched efficacy of mentoring English teachers ‘elbow to elbow’ to achieve trajectory of improved student literacy performance (especially EAL/D students). • Assessed impact of modelled teaching and team teaching on pedagogy and research-informed teaching using benchmarking of student performance and measurement of value adding. • Developed teacher skills in programming and teaching creative units of work, fostered best practice English and literacy practices, addressed areas of resource disadvantage in the English Department with particular focus on Year 8 creative writing. • Findings showed significant improvements in student engagement and literacy outcomes and gains in teacher confidence, motivation and pedagogy.
