The Transnational Law and Policy Centre (TLPC) at the University of Wollongong, together with the Australia New Zealand Society of International Law (ANZSIL) International Economic Law Interest Group, is delighted to host a PhD workshop in November 2023 titled Forging Pathways in Times of Geopolitical and Geoeconomic Upheaval.

PhD candidates from universities in Australia and New Zealand are invited to present their work in all areas of International Economic Law (IEL), including trade, investment, finance, intellectual property, development as well as their linkages to the environment, health, human rights, and sustainability. Participants are welcome to make a presentation on any section of their thesis or a related project. The workshop will also feature career development panels led by senior academics and practitioners with extensive opportunities for networking.

The workshop will be held on 23-24 November 2023 for 1½ days at the UOW Sydney CBD campus. TLPC and ANZSIL funds will allow us to provide partial transportation/accommodation stipends, based on need and availability. We expect that participants will either partially self-fund or fund expenses through their home institutions.

The TLPC is a globally engaged and recognized research centre that creates opportunities for sustainable and ethical development, implementation and dissemination of transnational law and policy. The Centre creates a focal point for multidisciplinary collaboration within and outside of UOW. The TLPC aims to harness existing networks and connections to promote and attract further research collaborations leading to impactful research that drives positive change in transnational law and policy.'
