Gendered Transnational Texts and Communities Network

Activity: Participating in or organising an eventOrganising a conference, workshop or event series

Description

The Gendered Transnational Texts and Communities Network provides a space to discuss various themes and artefacts related to the intersection between gender and transnationalism. It throws light upon gendered transnationalism through a focus on world literature, world cinema, comparative literature, popular culture and media. The network has a special concentration on the Global South, particularly Africa and the Middle East. Although we try to prioritize the experiences of marginalized communities and groups in poor postcolonial countries, the works we analyze also cover the productions of their allies who are based in the North. This network is led by the founder and convenor Dr. Jyhene Kebsi.
