Description

Using the newly developed RAISED between Cultures conceptual model (Kirova, Gokiert, Georgis & Mejia, 2017), Nicole examined pre- and post-immigration experiences, host country conditions, family and community strengths and vulnerabilities and early socialization environments. The research looks at how young newcomer children understand, construct meaning and represent their experiences, challenges and perspectives through personal art-making. Findings will provide educators and pre-service educators with important knowledge to support curricula and pedagogies in the classroom.
