Hybrid-Flexible Learning Design for Enhanced Learning

    Description

In the wake of the pandemic, flexible online teaching has gained prominence at numerous universities, often surpassing traditional face-to-face (F2F) instruction in demand. However, the implementation of a blended synchronous approach, an integral facet of flexible instruction, presents a formidable challenge to many educators, especially within the context of language teaching, which inherently demands a heightened level of interactivity through diverse activities.
In addition to having access to appropriate technology and robust technical support, achieving successful flexible language courses requires careful design of the tutorials to prevent the blended synchronous sessions from devolving into mere troubleshooting endeavours.
This paper explores an innovative pedagogical methodology that caters to the diverse learning modes of students and offers educators a relatively seamless means of mastering it through deliberate practice and diligence. Central to the approach is the concept of 'double zooming,' in addition to contemporary tools that not only motivate and engage students but also empower them to achieve their personal proficiency goals and learning outcomes.
