Reshaping Classrooms in a Multicultural and Multilingual World: An International Symposium on Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice in Education

Classrooms today are dynamic and evolving spaces, shaped by complex and intersecting cultural, linguistic, social, political, and economic factors. This symposium explores how educational environments can be reshaped to foster equity, inclusion, and social justice for all learners, regardless of background or identity.

Guided by Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 10, which promote quality education and the reduction of inequalities, we ask: how can teaching and learning spaces be transformed to better reflect the diverse realities of today’s classrooms and challenge systemic inequalities?

Bringing together voices from Australia, Europe, and Asia, this symposium includes two keynote presentations and six lightning talks by early career researchers. Together, these contributions will engage with critical issues and highlight innovative approaches in educational research and practice.
