The conference features more than 90 papers, keynote presentations and events on the theme of radio and audio programs, and is held biennially. In 2018 this conference was supported by Intellect Books, Monash University and MeCCSA Radio Studies network. Virginia Madsen presented two papers: ‘Radio eye, audio vision and the freeing of the feature in post war German and Australian radio’, a joint presentation with Director of the Centre for Media History, University of Hamburg, Hans-Ulrich Wagner; and ‘Radio art at the ABC: from Listening Room to no room?’, part of an invited panel titled 'Liberated, outlawed, re-invented? The crisis of radio art in the digital age' Organiser: Ania Mauruschat.
