Description
Translation can be understood as the search for a language that can bring us closer to cultures and issues we habitually ignore, disregard or shy away from. It tries to transpose the strange and inaccessible into the familiar and thereby also entails renegotiation what we already believe to know. Occasioned by the publication of the English translation of Günther Anders’ pioneering volumeThe Obsolescence of the Human this workshop invites reflection on how the generative challenges of translation can be activated as part of our research, writing and wider academic practice. To shape our discussion, a small selection of materials from Anders will be provided.| Period | 11 Feb 2026 |
