Description
he current shortage of teachers in many countries have reached fever pitch! A consequence is a high incidence of teaching OOF, as well as alternative pathways (e.g., alternatively qualified teachers) into teaching in order to meet the demand for teachers. Our research is expanding to capture the urgency facing the teacher workforce world-wide. This theme highlights the need for research and collaboration across sectors, and state and national borders to understand, theorise and develop solutions to the out-of-field teaching phenomenon within the context of these broader workforce demands. The presentation provides an overview of the 'Shifting the Culture of Out-of-Field Professional Education for Teachers' (SCOPE-T) project that looks to systems theory as a frame for multi-study exploration of out of field teaching in Australia.Period | 21 Aug 2023 |
