Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

In this presentation I describe an activity based on the children’s book, ‘Why I Love Australia’ by Bronwyn Bancroft. I share this book, in all its sensory creative power, with a group of people who have travelled from different parts of Australia to be together. They are musicians and teachers wanting to learn more about how to engage with children through the creative act of music making. At the time, musicians had not met together for a while, forced to stop playing and singing together, as the world was assaulted by virus and fear. But in the wake of this loss and the scars left by isolation we came together to sing, and dance, and create. The activity drew on the embodied nature of Aboriginal story, song and movement, and the inseparable connection of land and people.
