The European Day of Languages is observed 26 September, as proclaimed by the Council of Europe on 6 December 2001, with the intention to promote plurilingualism and learning languages. Dr Jasna Novak Milic from Macquarie University explains the importance of the plurilingualism and speaks about how this day was observed in Australia. A photo competition was organised by EUNIC (EU National Institutes for Culture in Australia) and students of European languages at Macquarie University, including Croatian, were are part of it.
