Are Australia’s Low Fuel Reserves Cause for Concern?

Press/Media: Expert Comment

Description

Despite being a major energy exporter, Australia relies heavily on imported refined fuel to power its transport, agriculture, and other sectors of its economy, leaving it highly vulnerable to disruptions in global supply chains.

My Quotation:
Lurion de Mello, a fuel security expert and senior lecturer at Macquarie University, said the real test would come in April — and into May — if the conflict continues. De Mello said that shipping data showed fuel deliveries were largely secured until the middle of April, but “beyond that, it’s a bit tricky.”
