Australian Broadcasting Corporation RN Summer School: Confucius

Press/Media: Public Engagement Activities

Description

How much do you know about the philosopher Confucius?

He's considered by many to be the central figure in Chinese thought, and yet for many Australians he often means little beyond the odd Confucius Say... joke.

In this very first episode of RN Summer School, Zoe Norton Lodge and Mark Sutton are joined by experts, Edmund Capon, Shirley Chan, Edward Slingerland and Murong Xuecan, to provide a guide to this influential, but often misunderstood figure, telling the story of his life, exploring his work, and looking at the impact he has on the modern world.
