Descriptionhe Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), which oversees power distribution across the country, has suspended the wholesale market.

Saying that it's "become impossible to continue operating the spot market while ensuring a secure and reliable supply of electricity for consumers", AEMO has halted spot-market trading in the National Electricity Market (NEM), which is responsible for generating and selling power to Queensland, NSW, ACT, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
