Using stories to teach is an ancient tradition, and learning from stories helps prepare healthcare professionals for the challenging situations they face on a daily basis.

Several universities have already incorporated comic books into medical education curricula to teach students observational and interpretive skills, and to help them think about the patient’s experience of illness.

But is there a role for graphic medicine in the public health sector?
