Qld Govt meets with Adani as another company withdraws

Press/Media: Expert Comment

Description

The mining company Adani is sitting down today with the Queensland Government in a bid to fast-track approvals for its controversial central Queensland mine.

The Queensland Premier made the extraordinary about-face yesterday — she and her Government have been accused of causing some of the delays to the approval process to assuage the anger among environment groups about the mine.

The meeting comes as another company withdraws its mining application.
