Real is not Real Enough – conversation about Günther Anders - 2/3

    Press/Media: Public Engagement Activities

    Description

In todays "In Conversation" program, we hear the 2nd part of our discussions about the podcast "Real Is not Real Enough", with the academics Chris Mueller and Benjamin Nickl and the actor Edgar Eckerd. In their project that spans times, languages and nations, the team has adapted a diary by the German thinker, philosopher and writer Günther Anders, written while he was in exile in Hollywood in 1941. We address the question of how Günther Anders came to terms with the fact that he, as a result of his exile, had sunk much lower in the social hierarchy. We also talk about what is reality actually is and what makes an experience "real".
