    Macquarie University Criminology Lecturer Dr Vincent Hurley says he is “gobsmacked” the government is only now tackling domestic violence.

    Mr Hurley discussed the issue on ABC's Q&A and revealed his frustrations with the politics of a proper domestic violence plan.

    “I want to see money go to frontline services, so beds in mental health and drug and alcohol, more women’s refuges and more money given to women’s organisations to address domestic violence,” Mr Hurley told Sky News Australia
