    For almost a century debate has raged about the exact age of the last known population of the ancient human species homo erectus, discovered in the 1930s in Indonesia.
    Now scientists say they've finally ended the controversy using a series of modern dating techniques. They say the findings shed new light on who the species may have interacted with and how it became extinct.
