Description
A body of texts in Egyptian literature has been given the classification of 'Königsnovelle', a German term for texts that commemorate historically significant events of cultic, administrative or political nature such as the foundation or building of a temple, the dispatching of an expedition, the action of the king against an enemy. The article discusses examples and aspects of this type of texts, the chronological range of their occurrence and the influence of Egyptian texts on neighboring traditions and vice versa.
