Description
In the late Middle Kingdom there is a distinct geographical framework for the distribution of certain female titles: 'the lively one of the king's first one' (anxt nt nsw), female servant of the ruler' (bAkt nt HqA) and 'king's ornament' (Xkrt nsw). Data from 129 monuments from southern Upper Egypt (99) and northern Upper Egypt (5) was analysed. The study also demonstrates the link between the 'king's ornament' (Xkrt nsw) and the mother of the sA-nsw (king's son).
