Description
The study investigates the presence of the goddess Hathor in the private tombs of the New Kingdom in the Theban necropolis: the varying ways in which a single deity (here: Hathor) can be depicted and designated and how she is associated with other deities (her "spheres of belonging': Hathor in the Underworld, Hathor in the 'Interworld' and Hathor in the 'Overworld'). Data from 73 Theban tombs dating from Dynasty 18-20 is analysed.
