Description

The officials of ancient Egypt are known to us mainly from their formal inscriptions engraved on permanent monuments. Tjay is one of the relatively few members of ancient Egypt's central government whose impressive tomb-chapel (Theban Tomb TT 23) is to be found as late as Merenptah's reign in the desert slopes of Western Thebes.
