Australian Hearing CAPD service

Description of impact

My research directly led to the establishment of the Australian Hearing CAPD service. I sat on the service steering committee and assisted in the development of clinical protocols; preparation of marketing materials; training of clinicians; and determining evaluation parameters. Assessment tools developed from my research are used clinically by the service. The construction of an assessment battery containing only tests that led to remediation for which there was an evidence base was new to the world. Dr. Helen Glyde, who reported to me at the time, was awarded an Employee Achievement of the Year Award at the 2013 Australian Hearing Australia Day Awards for her contribution to clinician training.
