Description of impact *
This research informed report written for the Australian Screen Editors Guild (ASE) was the key document in a negotiation with the Australian Writers Guild (AWG) leading to a decision by the AWG to support recognition of documentary editors as co-writers of documentary. The result was agreement between the two guilds that documentary editors are entitled to join the AWG as Associate Members. Membership in the writers guild gives documentary editors "access to and support from all AWG services. ASE member/writers can also join AWGACS ... and then AWGACS can begin to collect and distribute royalties for them." email from Danielle Boesenberg 2023 President of the Australian Screen Editors Guild 14/07/2023| Category of impact | Commercial impacts, Culture impacts |
