Description of impactJames organised an important community engagement activity, the annual thought leadership forum in conjunction with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, with participants from a wide range of stakeholder groups, including government, universities and other higher education institutions, the accounting profession, the business community, professional bodies and groups representing the interests of accounting and finance academics and practitioners. The forum and its associated publications reflect opinions and dialogue in developing the profession in the modern and changing economic, social and environmental milieu. It brings together key stakeholders to discuss and raise awareness of critical issues facing the accounting profession and to move ideas into action. The issues chosen are not only critical to the accounting profession and the business community, but are also essential to Australia’s and New Zealand’s national productivity and prosperity.
The forum attracted different participants and attendees every year, due to the diversity of topics chosen. Over 1,000 individuals representing various stakeholder groups and other interested parties were involved in the eight forums.
