Dr. Aaron Beach is a lecturer in Exercise and Sport Science, and early-career researcher in the Department of Health Sciences. He earned his PhD from The University of Sydney in 2016, investigating the 3D kinematics of spin bowling in cricket. Aaron is an accredited Level 2 Sports Scientist (ESSA) and Cricket Australia Level 2 coach. He has experience in high performance sport biomechanics, both as a practitioner and researcher, with a particular interest in understanding optimal running, throwing, bowling, and paddling technique. He also has clinical experience in knee orthopaedics, exploring the impact of surgical intervention on knee biomechanics and return to sport readiness. Across these roles, Aaron has experience with tools such as opto-electric motion capture, force plates, EMG, video analysis, and wearable devices.
