I am a Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Department of Modern History, Politics and International Relations. I was a Faculty Member at the Department from July 2017 to June 2020 and since July 2020 am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography, Universite Laval, Canada.

My research investigates the interplay of regulatory levels (local to global) in migration and refugee policy in a comparative perspective, with a current focus on refugees' participation in the labour market, the governance of refugee resettlement and the local integration of international students. I have published in the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Refuge, Brussels Studies, the Journal for the Academic Study of Religion and am the co-editor of Refugee Resettlement: Power, Politics and Humanitarian Governance (with Liliana Lyra Jubilut and Kristin Bergtora Sandvik, Berghahn Books, 2018) and Australian Politics and Policy (with Peter Chen et al., Sydney University Press, 2019.

I hold a PhD in Politics from Macquarie University and the University of Leipzig, Germany (2012) and have done postdoctoral research at the Interuniversity Research Centre on Globalization and Work (CRIMT), Université de Montréal, Canada (2015-2016)  and the Group for Research on Ethnic Relations, Migration and Equality (GERME), Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium (2016-2017).
