Personal profile

My research investigates the interplay of regulatory levels (local to global) in migration and refugee policy in a comparative perspective, with a current focus on refugees' participation in the labour market, the governance of refugee resettlement and the local integration of international students. I have published in the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Refuge, Brussels Studies, the Journal for the Academic Study of Religion and am the co-editor of Refugee Resettlement: Power, Politics and Humanitarian Governance (with Liliana Lyra Jubilut and Kristin Bergtora Sandvik, Berghahn Books, 2018).

I hold a PhD in Politics from Macquarie University and the University of Leipzig, Germany (2012) and have done postdoctoral research at the Interuniversity Research Centre on Globalization and Work (CRIMT), Université de Montréal, Canada (2015-2016)  and the Group for Research on Ethnic Relations, Migration and Equality (GERME), Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium (2016-2017).

I have been a lecturer at Macquarie University since July 2017 and am currently the co-convenor of the Master of Politics and Public Policy and the Director of the Master of Research (MRes) in Politics and International Relations.
