Personal profile
Biography
I hold dual appointments as Consumer Engagement Manager at MQ Health's MindSpot and Honorary Research Fellow at Macquarie University's eCentreClinic. MindSpot and the eCentreClinic are two digital mental health services leading the development, evaluation and delivery of world-class online psychological treatments for a range of mental health and physical health conditions.
Drawing on over a decade's experience in qualitative, mixed-methods, and codesign approaches, my current program of work spans three broad areas, including enhancing our understanding of and support for:
- evidence-based, person-centred (digital) mental healthcare delivery;
- consumer/patient decision-making around uptake and engagement with their mental healthcare, including both face-to-face and digital options; and
- actively involving people with lived and living experience in mental health research and service design.
Highlighting the applied nature of my research, it has directly informed national and international clinical management guidelines, health professional practice guides, and policy recommendations to government.
Research interests
Shared decision-making; patient decision aids; depression; anxiety, bipolar disorder; co-occurring alcohol/other drug use conditions; digital/e-health interventions; co-design; consumer involvement in research; qualitative research; mixed-methods research.
