Dr Amrithnath Sreedevi Babu is a Lecturer in Law at Macquarie Law School. His teaching and research span intellectual property law, climate change and food security, international law, and the regulation of emerging technologies.

Amrith completed his PhD in Law at Macquarie University, where his research examined the legal protection of farmers' rights, seed governance, and intellectual property in agriculture. He also holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from King's College London, an LL.M. in Environmental Law from the Cochin University of Science and Technology, and a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from the University of Kerala.

Before joining Macquarie University, Amrith taught at the University of Wollongong, the University of Delhi, and TERI School of Advanced Studies. He has also worked in legal research and public policy with the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India and on a project with the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, Parliament of India.

Amrith's current research focuses on the intersection of law, climate change, and food security, with particular interests in intellectual property, farmers' rights, artificial intelligence, digital sequence information, biodiversity governance, and transparency in AI-assisted plant breeding. His work has been published in leading international journals, including the Journal of World Intellectual Property and the Asian Journal of Comparative Law.
