Dr Amy Nguyen’s program of research encompasses digital health, aged care and chronic disease management. She has extensive experience in co-designing, implementing and evaluating various health technologies such as smartphone apps, dashboards, decision support and communication portals in aged care and chronic diseases. Given her expertise in digital health, she is Associate Editor of BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making, and BMC Digital Health. Additionally, Dr Nguyen was elected as an Australian Digital Health Agency Digital Health Advisor, providing consultancy on policy development and subject matter expertise to support digitising of healthcare across the Commonwealth. In 2023, she was appointed as the Academic Advisor to the National Digital Medicines Advisory Group which provides strategic advice on Australian digital medicines matters. Dr Nguyen has extensive research partnerships with industry and government to support application and translation of her digital health research into policy and practice. She also has a keen interest in effective scientific communication, and has been an active STEM Mentor for The New York Academy of Sciences since 2016.
