Personal profile

Biography

I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Clinical Psychologist at the eCentreClinic, Macquarie University, a specialist research centre for digital mental health.

I completed a Bachelor of Science (Psychology Honours) in 2012 at Macquarie University, focusing on the mechanisms of decision-making, followed by a combined Doctor of Clinical Psychology and PhD program at the University of Sydney, on the topic of eating patterns, cognition and decision-making in obesity.

My research interests lie at the intersection of mental and physical health, and I am particularly interested in:

1. The role of diet, eating and exercise behaviour on physical and mental health.

2. The interaction of emotional, cognitive and physical health factors in chronic health conditions.

3. The role of habitual and goal-directed behaviour in physical and mental health conditions.

4. Environmental contributors to the shaping of behaviour, and the intersection of health and the built environment.

Clinical Expertise and Supervision

I have training and expertise in the treatment of weight and eating disorders, medically unexplained physical symptoms, and mood and anxiety disorders, and I have worked clinically in hospital, community and private settings with children, adolescents and adults. I also supervise Clinical Psychology interns at MindSpot Clinic, a goverment-funded digital mental health service.

Teaching

I have lectured and tutored across a number of undergraduate Psychology units, as well as on the mental health rotation of an MBBS program.
