Personal profile

I am an early career researcher with a background in neurobiology and biomedicine. My current research focuses on DNA damage response in neurodegeneration in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. After completion of my master degree at Warsaw University of Life Science, Poland I started PhD study at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Polish Academy of Science, Warsaw, Poland. My research interest was centred around various aspects of neuronal plasticity in physiology and pathophysiology, including the interaction between nerve cells and extracellular matrix in epilepsy. I have obtained my PhD in 2015 (October) and subsequently joined Prof Julie Atkin’s group as postdoctoral research fellow (January 2017) at Centre for Motor Neuron Disease Research, Macquarie University.
