Personal profile

Biography

As a PhD candidate at Macquarie University, I aim to advance our understanding of effective teaching strategies, educator-child relationships, and their impact on educational outcomes, particularly in language development. My research project focuses on communication dynamics within early childhood education, exploring how various factors, such as educator qualifications, experience, culture, and gender, shape communication patterns. I have presented my findings at conferences in Adelaide and online, and I am looking forward to completing my dissertation by mid-2026.

In addition to my research, I have over a decade of experience in early childhood classrooms, and three years of experience in tertiary teaching. I teach, mark, and supervise students in the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Masters of Teaching courses at Macquarie University, where I also support senior lecturers as a research assistant. I hold two masters degrees in Research and Early Childhood respectively, and I specialise in early childhood teaching, student and educator mentoring, and quantitative research. I am passionate about improving the quality and accessibility of early childhood education, and I welcome any opportunities to connect with fellow educators and researchers.
