Binh earned her PhD at Macquarie University. Her research measured the direct and transgenerational effects of the microbiota on the life-history traits and foraging behaviour of the Queensland fruit fly, providing insights into the complex interplay between the insect host and its microbiota. Currently, Binh’s seeking to develop new methods for sustainable pest management using recently developed synthetic biology tools.
