Biography
Dr Bronwyn Newman has worked as a Social Worker in various organisations, completed a Masters in Policy and Social Research (Macquarie University) and a PhD (UNSW Sydney). Her PhD was about using easy read information about mental health for people with intellectual disability. Her interest in information access stemmed from seeing the struggle many people with intellectual disability and their families faced when seeking health information and services. Bronwyn has been involved various projects that reflect her desire to promote the right to health information for all people. She is particulalry interested in learning more about how to include people with diverse communication needs in broader conversations about health, health services and health literacy.
