Biography

Dr Can Yalcinkaya is a Program Manager at Macquarie University International College. He is a researcher, a comic artist and musician, whose scholarly and creative work feed into each other. He is the convenor of the Graphic Social Science Research Network, a community of researchers who aim to foster and promote scholarly research communicated in the multi-modal medium of graphic novels. He is a founding member of the Comics Studies Society and a member of Centre for Media History. Along with Dr Safdar Ahmed, he founded the anti-racist Muslim metal band, Hazeen and performed in art venues such as the Museum of Contemporary Art.
