Carla Lopes is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Macquarie University, working on a national Hort Innovation project that enhances public understanding of the nutritional role of fresh produce bioactives through co-design, communication, and knowledge translation. She holds a PhD in Public Health from Macquarie University, where her doctoral research examined Indigenous Food Systems and Australian native foods and their contribution to sustainable, culturally grounded, and resilient food futures. Her earlier master’s research focused on pesticide residues in food, forming the foundation of her broader interest in food systems, nutrition, and public health.
