Research interests

Chris Heaton is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Macquarie University where he works in the field of econometrics. His main theoretical contributions have been in the area of identification and estimation of latent factor models of multivariate time series. He also does applied econometric research in a number of fields including labour economics, the economics of education, forecasting and financial economics. His research has been published in highly ranked journals including The Econometrics Journal, The Journal of Multivariate Analysis, The International Journal of Forecasting, Economics of Education Review, and Economics of Transition and Institutional Change. He has supervised to successful completion the research projects of 7 PhD students, 8 Masters students and 14 Honours students.
