Biography

Chuanmei is a lecturer with the Department of Educational Studies. She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate units, specialising in technology and science in early childhood and primary school. Prior to moving to Macquarie University, Chuanmei worked at University of New England and University of Newcastle where she taught early childhood education and research courses, as well as technology in education.

 

Chuanmei’s research is focused on exploring teachers’ perceptions and pedagogical practices in relation to young children’s use of technologies and seeking effective approaches to integrating technologies into early years education.  She also has strong interest in studying cultural impacts on technology practices in early childhood education.  Her current research project explores preservice teachers’ attitudes, intentions, and experiences related to technology use.
