Biography

Dr Fei Yang is a passionate postdoctoral research fellow at Precision Cancer Therapy Research Group at Macquarie University and Sydney Precision Data Science Centre at the University of Sydney.  She completed her Ph.D. in Genetics and Genomics of Human Reproductive Diseases at IMB UQ in 2023. With that, she has a few first-author publications on uncovering genetic links between endometriosis and digestive disorders, as well as melanoma, including the recent one published in Cell Reports Medicine.  She also gained invaluable experience in oncology precision medicine while working in the industry.

Research interests

Her research interests focus on leveraging cutting-edge multi-omics technologies and statistics/bioinformatics to understand cancer mechanisms and identify biomarkers of immunotherapy response, eventually improving cancer patient outcomes in clinics, especially melanoma.

Apart from that, she also has strong research interests in genetics and RNA splicing, and their potential role in cancer treatment resistance and other diseases comorbidities.
