Biography

Dr Georgia Fisher is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI). Georgia is a health systems researcher who uses implementation science to help translate research evidence into clinical practice. Her current research focus is on Learning Health Systems, systems in which knowledge is embedded into daily clinical practice to continually improve the quality, safety, and outcomes of healthcare delivery.

Dr Fisher has six years clinical experience as a registered physiotherapist, where she specialised in the rehabilitation of people with chronic disease and injuries. Her research experience ranges from physiological investigations of muscle spindle properties to research examining clinical behaviour change in stroke rehabilitation. The combination of her clinical and research experience gives Dr Fisher an in-depth understanding of the research pathway from bench to bedside, which she uses to work effectively with all stakeholders to generate optimal research translation.
