Biography

Hania is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health informatics, Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI), Macquarie University. In 2015, she was awarded a highly competitive University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA) to pursue her PhD in Public Health at the University of New South Wales Sydney (UNSW Sydney). Hania previously had completed a master's and a bachelor's in Nutrition and Dietetics. Before joining Macquarie University, she worked as a postdoctoral Researcher at UNSW Sydney and as a Research Scientist at Nutrition Research Australia, leading varying types of research projects on Public Health and Nutrition Sciences.

Currently, Hania's research focuses on developing a highly adaptive health system. Her exploratory research study looks at approaches for engineering health systems to be shock-absorbent in future crises such as climate change events. She is also interested in the potential role of digital health in climate change response and mitigation.

Hania has well-rounded quantitative and qualitative research methodology skills. She particularly has broad experience in clinical trials and mixed methods studies. Her research interest lies in digital health to improve the quality of care and promote health behaviours.
