Ian Johnson is Professor of Anatomy at Macquarie University, Sydney and was previously head of Anatomy and Pathology at the University of Adelaide, South Australia. He obtained his Ph.D .from the Institute of Neurology (UCL), London and undertook postdoctoral work on facial nerve injury at the Max Planck Institute, Munich. His research focuses on the effects of ageing on the survival of neurones. He also evaluates the effectiveness of innovation in learning human anatomy.
