Biography
Dr Isabella Tan is a Research Fellow at the Macquarie Medical School, Macquarie University, Sydney. A software programmer turned cardiovascular research scientist, Isabella's research interest lies in the utility of arterial stiffness and central aortic blood pressure measurement in health and disease, in particular hypertension. She has run the Australian arm of multiple international clinical trials investigating 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure as a diagnostic tool. Isabella assists in the running of the Blood Pressure and Vascular Function Laboratory, administering tests for ambulatory blood pressure and cardiac autonomic function. Isabella also has an education role, teaching across the Bachelor of Clinical Science and Medical Doctorate programs.
