Jasna Novak Milic (Milić) is a linguist, lecturer, and researcher currently appointed as a Lecturer and Director of Croatian Studies at the Department of International Studies: Languages and Cultures, Macquarie University. Jasna is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Croatian Studies Review, scolarly journal published annually by Croatian Studies Centre, Macquarie University.

Living in Australia since 2014, she was a casual tutor at the Western Sydney University, School of Humanities and Communication Arts (TESOL), and a radio producer at SBS Croatian. She is the author and the voice behind podcast series "Easy Croatian" produced in collaboration with SBS. 

Prior to moving to Sydney, she worked at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences since 1998 as a research and teaching assistant and progressed to tenured professor, a position she was appointed to in 2010 after completing her Ph.D. in Linguistics in 2008.
During her 20-year long academic career, she taught numerous courses, undergraduate and graduate level, in Croatian, Swedish, and English, conducted linguistic research, supervised B.A. and M.A. theses, participated in curriculum development, e-learning and academic research and publishing.

As an adviser or a team member, she was involved in the development of various standardized language tests and curricula, conference organizing and peer reviews of scholarly articles.

Besides Croatia and Australia, Jasna has taught language and translation in Uppsala, Sweden and as a Fulbright lecturer at Indiana University in Bloomington, USA.

Areas of her professional interest include language acquisition, bilingualism, intercultural communication and education, aspectology and learning design.
